Winning and losing

Seeing the students finding out they won the contest was a big joy for me. They see all their hard works pay off and being display for everyone to see it. Thats probably more priceless than the prize they won.
On the other hand, sometime is hard to see the kids being disappoint at not winning. I can just see it in their eye. I really hate it, but that's the way it is. They just need to lean how to deal with it.

Winning is "good", but, losing is "good for you", if you let it. Just like practice makes you a better artist, losing trains your mind to set new goals and will make you realize, there is always going to be someone better than you. To become better, you must learn from the mistakes you make and correct them for future confrontations. It's not who you beat in competition, it's how much better you performed than the last time. For the most improvement, you must compete against yourself.
